Christmas Theatre trips

All children in Key Stage Two will go to the theatre with school at Christmas. In 2023, KS2 went toThe Old Vic to see Arabian Nights.

All Key Stage 1 children will go to the theatre with school at Christmas visit .In Jan 2024 they went to the Tobaccor Factory in Bristol to see The Selfish Giant.

Whole School Trips

We endeavour to plan whole school trips when we have a whole school topic. For example, there was a visit to the SS Great Britain as part of our 'What is Brilliant About Bristol?' topic; a visit to Folly Farm for our 'What can you tell me about the Chew Valley?' topic.

Golden Eagle Class Enrichment Week

In the year in which the class do not have a week long residential trip, the children in Golden Eagle Class take part in a week of enrichment activities. During w/b 15^th May 2023 , the children enjoyed in a variety of day trips in and around the city of Bristol.

Visitors

We endeavour to plan in a range of visitors to the school to enrich our curriculum, from people with expertise during Focus Weeks eg Science workshops June 2023, to drama workshops provided by Valley Arts, to working with artists, to visitors to talk about their faith with the children.

Sporting Festivals/P.E COACHING

Every week, children in all classes have a P.E lesson with a Sports Coach to ensure high quality P.E provision.

We take part in a range of sporting festivals at Chew Valley School with other feeder primary schools.
