Christmas Theatre trips
All children in Key Stage Two will go to the theatre with school at Christmas. In 2023, KS2 went toThe Old Vic to see Arabian Nights.
All Key Stage 1 children will go to the theatre with school at Christmas visit .In Jan 2024 they went to the Tobaccor Factory in Bristol to see The Selfish Giant.
Golden Eagle Class Enrichment Week
In the year in which the class do not have a week long residential trip, the children in Golden Eagle Class take part in a week of enrichment activities. During w/b 19th May 2025 , the children enjoyed in a variety of day trips in and around the city of Bristol. These included paddle boarding in the harbour, an Upfest street art tour, a visit to the Hindu temple in St George, a behind the scenes tour of the Old Vic.
Visitors
We endeavour to plan in a wide range of visitors to the school to enrich our curriculum, from people with expertise during Focus Weeks eg Science workshops to drama workshops provided by Valley Arts, to working with artists, to visitors to talk about their faith with the children.
Sporting Festivals/P.E COACHING
Every week, children in all classes have a P.E lesson with a Sports Coach to ensure high quality P.E provision.
We take part in a range of sporting festivals at Chew Valley School with other feeder primary schools.
