Special Needs

All local maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.

All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible and where families want this to happen.

At Chew Magna Primary School, we aim to support all children in accessing the curriculum fully. We work with a range of outside agencies, including Speech & Language, Occupational Therapists and Educational Psychologists.

Our Special Needs Coordinator is Marie Mallett, who is also a class teacher and Assistant Head. Our Special Needs Governor is Mrs Lynne Easton.
